The longest river in Newfoundland which rises in Southwest Newfoundland, flowing Northeast for the entire course of 200 miles and ultimately empties into the Bay of Exploits, an inlet located in the Notre Dame Bay. In its upper course the Exploits drains waters from the Red Indian Lake. It can be navigated for 30 miles upstream.
